The
Little Red Fly Shop is not little and it is not red.
We took our name from the world famous Little Red River. We
are the only fly shop on the 92 mile long Little Red River and
stock everything for the fly fishing angler.
The Little
Red Fly Shop offers a wide variety of quality, trusted name
brands like Sage, Redington, G. Loomis, Temple Fork, Thomas &
Thomas rods, Waterworks, Redington and Loomis reels, Dyna-King
vises, Columbia clothing, Fish Pond packs, tons of hats of all sizes and types,
Action Optics sunglasses, Simms and Hodgman waders, tee shirts,
local art work and a very large selection of flies that are
from Umpqua, Idylwilde, Spirit River and flies tied by our local
guides.
The Little
Red Fly Shop also feeds it's hungry customers with delicious
deli sandwiches, snacks and a variety of soft drinks.
The Little
Red Fly Shop is located on the banks of the world famous Little
Red River near the town of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Only an
hour drive north of our capital city of Little Rock, Heber
Springs is chock full of things to see and do. According to
the local Chamber of Commerce, seven million visitors graced
the mountain hideaway of Heber Springs last year! Compare that
to the four and one half million visitors at Yellowstone National
Park and you will agree there must be something special here.
Heber Springs
not only has the Little Red River, but a beautiful lake as well.
Greers Ferry Lake's 37,500 acres (360+ miles of shoreline) is
full of record Walleye (world record), Pike, Stripers, Hybrid
(world record). Its pristine waters provide drinking water to
tens of thousands of Arkansans. You can scuba dive our lake!
House boat rentals, ski boats, jet skis, lake fishing guide
trips, and more await visitors Spring through Fall. Other attractions
in the area include the seven springs for which Heber Springs
is famous. Drinking from these healing waters is said to be
a curative experience.
Driving Directions
From East Texas to here
Take I-30 East to Little Rock then I-30 to I-40 East (toward Memphis). Turn left onto Hwy.67/167 and continue past Jacksonville, Little Rock AFB and Sherwood.
Take the Highway 5 North exit near Cabot. There is a sign that indicates that this exit leads to Heber Springs. Continue North by Greystone Golf Course, Mountain Springs and go straight at the 4 way stop at Hwy. 64 and proceed toward El Paso staying on Hwy. 5 North through Rose Bud. When you reach the intersection of Hwy. 5 and Hwy. 16 (about 12-15 miles from Rose Bud), turn right onto Hwy. 16 and go a mile or so until you get to Hwy. 25. Turn left onto Hwy. 25 and proceed down the mountain. You will see a sign near the bottom that says Heber Springs Business District, don't turn at this sign but go straight onto our bypass. After 2-3 miles you will come to a four way stop. Turn right onto Highway 110 East. The Little Red Fly Shop is 1-2 miles down 110 and is on the left. If you cross the Little Red River, you went too far.
From Memphis to here
Take I-55 North toward St. Louis and exit at Marion (it is also the Sunset and Wynne exit). Proceed West on 64 through Earle, Parkin, Wynne, Fair Oaks, McCrory, Augusta and Bald Knob. Turn right at Bald Knob and go under Hwy. 67/167 (it looks like an interstate highway) toward Batesville and turn left (it's only a few hundred yards) onto Highway 258 to Providence. Turn right near Providence at the stop sign by the large school onto Hwy. 157. Pass through Steprock and turn left at the church in Sunnydale onto Hwy. 124. Proceed through the town of Little Red, cross the Little Red River bridge and later turn right, staying on 124 to Pangburn (don't go to Dewey). Turn right at the dead end in Pangburn onto Hwy. 110 West through Wilburn. Eventually, you will cross the Little Red River again near Barnett Park (there are signs). Turn right at the far end of this bridge and you will be in our parking lot.
